1. What are the characteristics of a living thing? Why is a candle not alive?
living things are made up of units called cells. living things reproduce. Living things are based on a universal genetic code. Living things grow and develop. Living things obtain and use materials and energy. A candle is not alive. its like a sample of life. theres no end to it until you die.
2. Which disease threatens you most? Why?
cancer, aids, std, and etc. because some cant be cured and i wouldnt want to live life diseases in my body knowing their going to be there for internal life.
3. Discuss some of the diversity of plants? Why are plants important to us?
plants are important because they give us oxygen and we need oxygen to survive. there are alot of different plants but each is use for a specific term.
4. Compare and contrast the reproduction of autosomes (mitosis), sex cells (meiosis). Why is the
difference important?
Meisosis is a process of reproduction in which the number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half through the separation of homologous chromosomes in a diploid cell.
5. What are the benefits of genetic testing?
genetic testing is for what did you get from your parents. because everything you have was passed down from your parents.
6. Why do you need to know some chemistry in biology?
chemistry has be known in biology because chemistry is like you have to find why you got that asnwer and in biology its kinda like you only the asnwer is there for you and you just write wat you think.

period 2 summer blogs
1.Compare DNA and RNA.
The DNA is only found in the chromosomes and RNA is practically found anywhere.
2.Discuss genetic privacy based upon the movie Gattaca.
Privacy is very important because if there something wrong in your genetics it should be held agaisnt. Genetics you have should be only for the doctor that assits you.
3.Discuss which of your traits are dominant and recessive (min 5 traits)
my nose is small. my ears and free. my mouth is small. eyes slanted.
4.Discuss how you relate to geologic time.
I see how some scientists did their best and discorvered and achive what they wanted but if everybody trys it could happen.
5.why is the bottom of the foodchain important to (us)? Whats happens if the bottom is disrupted?
The food chian is important because thats how we can survive. without food our species might be extint too.
6.Compare the anatomy of two orgamisms which are the most evolved why?
when something isnt evolved all the way its still a baby like a cricket it takes time to get to the age where the mother is.
